Best Black Friday Argos, Currys and John Lewis deals 2018

Black Friday is almost upon us, meaning some of the biggest high street stores are already slashing prices on everything from fashion to furniture.

The good news is that there’s no need to venture out to the shops this time round because a number of retailers are extending their sales online with the likes of Argos, Currys and John Lewis offering some of the best deals around.

While most companies are yet to confirm their involvement in Black Friday 2018, we’re certain that you can expect to bag some bargains from these big names across a range of departments.

Here, we will be constantly updating the best deals in the run up to Black Friday.

One of the best places to visit if you’re looking for discounts on a variety of goods, Argos has already confirmed that it’s joining this year’s event and will have offers on everything from televisions to laptops and kids’ toys.

To make sure you get the best deals this year it’s a good idea to sign up for an Argos account so you’re ready to go when it’s time to complete your order. If you want to be really prepared, you can even start a wishlist beforehand; of course, it can’t be guaranteed that everything on your list will be discounted, but doing so could save you valuable time.

Join the Argos email list here to be first to hear all about its plans for Black Friday 2018.

Similarly, if you’re looking to buy big ticket items, or lots of cheaper ones, you also have the option of signing up for an Argos card, which has credit plans ranging from three to 12 months.

The exact time that Argos will launch its offers is yet to be confirmed but last year its sale started three hours before the stroke of midnight on Black Friday. It also revealed that the quitest time to shop on its website was Friday morning between 3am-4am.

Virtual reality is being used in health care. It allows medical students to practice dangerous procedures and gain experience without actually operating on a human. It can also help surgeons determine the best point of entry for surgeries.

Tech retailer Currys PC World has already started discounting many of its products in what it’s calling the “Why Wait” sale and, if last year is anything to go by, there’s plenty more to come.

The brand has predicted that customers will spend 198 million minutes on its website this coming Black Friday and that nearly half of all transactions, 44 per cent, will be made using a smartphone.

Currys has also released some hints about what could be on offer this time round giving mention to games consoles like the Xbox One X, Nintendo Switch and PS4 Pro as possible products that could be included in the sale.

If you’re worried about price differences between retailers, Currys is a wise choice thanks to its Price Match Promise. Last year it matched the prices of high street retailers like John Lewis and Argos, but for 2018 it's also promised to match prices on Amazon.

To make sure you’re prepared, you can create a personalised Black Friday Wish List on Currys’ website where you’ll be able to keep an eye on your most wanted tech products when the big day drops.

iGlasses. While today Apple is infamous for their use of “i” in their products, they weren’t the first ones to come up with the idea. In the 1990s, a company known as Virtual I/O came up with a headset that was capable of color 3D stereoscopic vision, as well as head tracking. Known as iGlasses, the device had a price tag of just under $1000. While the glasses were fully capable of delivering an immersive experience, they didn’t truly ignite the consumer market.
